Something not working?
Gaby lets you rehearse the conversations you'll actually have in Spain — out loud, before you're standing there. No account, no subscription, nothing to download and no internet connection needed at any point.

What's actually in the app?
24 situations — arrival, errands, eating out, paperwork, social — each playable at three levels, plus 100 lessons that feed them and a 124-piece collection of Spanish art and places you unlock as you go.
What are the three levels?
Every situation can be played as Guided (Spanish and English on screen, tap your answer), Practice (Spanish only — say your answer out loud), or Real (no text at all, audio only). Real is genuinely hard, and it's the one that matches standing in an actual shop.
Do I need an account, a subscription, or an internet connection?
None of the three. Gaby is a one-time purchase with no in-app purchases and no subscription. It ships with everything it needs, so it works in aeroplane mode, abroad, with no roaming and no sign-up.
Does Gaby download anything on first launch?
No. Earlier versions downloaded a large AI language model on first launch — that is gone. The current version ships all its content inside the app and makes no network requests at all.
Gaby isn't hearing me / the microphone doesn't work.
Gaby needs microphone and speech-recognition permission to let you practice speaking. Go to Settings › Gaby and enable Microphone and Speech Recognition. Speech is transcribed on your device.
I said it right and it didn't accept me.
Matching is deliberately generous — a missing accent or a different word order passes, because being understood is the real-world win. If a specific answer consistently won't pass, that's a bug worth reporting: email the situation or lesson name and what you said.
Are the corrections written by a person?
Yes — every Spanish sentence and every correction in the app is authored text, fixed at release. Nothing is generated, so nothing can invent a wrong answer.
What language does the app appear in?
Gaby follows your iPhone's language for its interface, which ships in twelve languages: English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). The Spanish being taught is explained in English and German. To change the interface language use Settings › General › Language & Region, or set a per-app language in Settings › Gaby.
How do I change the voice or speaking speed?
Tap the gear at the top of any tab to open Settings, then use the Voice and Speaking speed options.
How do I delete my data, or start over?
Everything Gaby stores — your progress and your preferences — lives only on your device, and there is no server-side copy. To erase it without deleting the app, open the gear on any tab and choose Erase all data and start over. Deleting the app removes it too. See the Privacy Policy for details.
My practice reminder didn't arrive.
Settings shows the next queued reminder, so you can tell whether one is scheduled. If it is scheduled but arrives late, check iOS Settings › Notifications › Scheduled Summary — if Gaby is included there, iOS holds its notifications and delivers them at the summary's own times.
Still stuck? Email support@edsa.tech with your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the situation or lesson name — that's usually enough for me to reproduce it.
